North Wales Police – Product Development
In May 2010 Holden's were proud to be awarded a 2 year contract by the Welsh Police to manufacture detainee cell kits to be fitted in the rear of Ford Focus cars.
The first stage of the contract required the manufacture of tooling from which the steel and fibreglass components would be manufactured. Mid term in the second year of this contract the Welsh Police renegotiated the vehicle supply contract and changed their preferred vehicle to a Hyundai. This move forced a complete re design of the cell system as it became clear that none of the Focus vehicle components would interchange into the Hyundai vehicle.
We were issued with a vehicle by the police and have successfully integrated the cell system into car meeting expectations and gaining approval to give a completed to specification cell system.
